Autumn Splendor by Linda Selymes, WA 2010

Artist note: I have attached a 6 x 9" scene I just completed using watercolor, a new skill I'm trying to learn.Ê This particular scene reminds me of a place we vacation every year high up in the mountains on a lake, actually two lakes.Ê I called this one Autumn Splendor.Ê We still vacation there, every year; for 40 years now.Ê It's called Twin Lakes Rainbow Beach Resort; and it's high up in the mountains, in the very north and eastern part of Washington state on the Colville Indian Reservation.

The main stamps used were soft hill and pond, along with one of the autumn banks, some tree stamps, tall grass, and of course the ever faithful oak branch.Ê Only the leaves on the bottom are not stampscapes.Ê It is stamped with stazon olive green ink on 140# hotpress watercolor paper and colored with Daniel Smith watercolors and Derwent Inktense water soluable pencils.
