185G Brookside Boulders - Where volume meets texture. This is a design where
this aspect really came together. This was one of those designs that comes along
once in a while where everything seems to come together without effort. The forms
seemed to have a sense of grace while still reflecting what they were --heavy,
solid, masses covered with crusty lichen. Independent shapes within the overall
perimeter shape were the toughest aspects to figure out. Keeping things quiet and
peaceful within the form while making a bold statement at the same time was key.
The outer shapes of the larger two rocks on the right of the design were bent and
altered until the I found the curves I wanted. A really simple design but one of
my favorites.
