The Stampscapes® 101: 8-Step Thumbnail Grid, Lesson XXII
Moonlight Madness

Shack 246B is stamped with Ranger Archival Jet Black on the upper right hand side. Only about half of the shack is stamped on the cardstock.

Mask shack. Autumn Bank Right 214G is stamp with Ranger Archival Jet Black on top of, and slightly under, the shack. This begins to create the shoreline in the background.

Fir Row 243A is repeatedly stamped with Ranger Archival Jet Black to the left side of the Autumn Bank Right 214G to complete the shoreline in the background. Pines & Rocks 195G is stamped with Ranger Archival Jet Black on the lower left side. The Pines & Rocks are larger than the Fir Row behind it, so this adds depth and dimension to the landscape.

Mask the trees for the Autumn Bank Right 214G. Mostly you want to mask the portion of the trees that are not evergreens. Star Birth 217G is stamped with Ranger Archival Cobalt in the sky area.

Randomly stipple Ranger Nick Bantock Chrome Yellow, Ranger Sea Brights Sailboat Blue and Ranger Sea Brights Bikini Pink over the sky area.

Mask the rock portion only of the Pines & Rocks 195G, stipple the following colors (in order by layers) over the water area: Ranger Vintage Ocean, Ranger Sea Shells Ocean Aqua, Ranger Sea Brights Sail Boat Blue. Once you have finished that, then lightly slipple Ranger Nick Bantock Cerulean Azure over the areas which will be darker. Water Pattern Small 231C is stamped with Ranger Vintage Spring Floral along the upper portion of the entire shoreline and to the right and underneath the Pines & Rocks 195G. When using the water pattern stamp, after you stamp and while the ink is still wet, use your finger to lightly smear the stamped image to give it a softer, less defined look.

Remove the masks on the Rocks & Pines 195G and the Autumn Bank Right 214G, leaving the mask on the shack. Stipple Ranger Vintage Spearmint followed by Ranger Stamp-It Lime Green over the ground area of the shoreline. Ranger Stamp-it Brown is lightly stippled over the sandy bank of the shoreline. Stipple Ranger Stamp-It Lime Green over the non-evergreen type trees on shoreline, stipple Ranger Adirondack Bottle over evergreen type trees on shoreline. A small white bristled paintbrush or Ranger Cut 'n Dry nib may be used to apply ink to the smaller detail areas if needed. Ranger Adirondack Slate and Ranger Stamp-It Brown are stippled over the rock area of the Pines & Rocks, Ranger Adirondack Bottle is stippled over the pines above the rocks.

Remove mask from cabin. Using a small white bristled paintbrush or Ranger Cut 'n Dry Nib, color the cabin using Ranger Stamp-It Brown, Ranger Adirondack Terra Cotta and Slate and Ranger Archival Jet Black. Be sure to add a light in the window and the reflection of the light on the water by brushing in Ranger Nick Bantock Chrome Yellow. Using Ranger Archival Jet Black, stamp Geese in Flight 039A in the upper left corner of the night sky, stamp Fisherman in Boat 187B in the water just to the left of the cabin, and stamp Loons in H2O 261C in the lower right corner. Reeds Large 068D are stamped with Ranger Stamp-It Lime Green and Ranger Adirondack Bottle along the bottom right corner to finish off the scene.
