I own Creative Design and Peddlers Den in Somonauk IL. Somonauk sits on the county line of DeKalb County and LaSalle County. Our customers travel up to an hour and a half to take classes and shop at our store. I have been stamping and teaching stamping for 15 years. Stampscapes is my all-time favorite.


Class listing

QuickScapes
Beginner skill level.
This is a brayered backgrounds class in which you will use Stampscapes images, and do some basic scene building. A good beginners class for those who admire Stampscapes, and a good choice as an introduction to scene building. You will make 5 or more cards. Class will be cancelled if fewer than 4 are registered 1 week in advance.

Hand Blended Backgrounds
This is not a typical Stampscapes class, but is a good beginner's class for those who are interested in progressing on to an intermediate or advanced Stampscapes class. In this class you will use Clearsnap Stylus handles and white foam blending tips to create hand blended backgrounds. You will then use both Stampscapes and other images and verses to make attractive, inspirational cards. You will make 4 cards. Class will be cancelled if fewer than 4 are registered 1 week in advance.

WinterScapes
For experienced stampers. This is a great Christmas card class, or cards for any winter occasion. The scenes feature bare branched trees, evergreens, cold, crisp monochromatic color, and cold, icy glitter. Techniques include masking/scene building, glittering, and use of the tonal applicator ti add simple, layered color and dark bordering. Suitable for beginner/intermediate skill levels. Three cards are made. Class will be cancelled if fewer than 4 are registered 1 week in advance.

Ledges & Lakes
An intermediate level class. Participants will use masking, the tonal applicator, and blending tips to create and color these scenes. May include woodsy and/or tropical scenes. 3 cards will be made featuring rocky ledges and lakes. Class will be cancelled if fewer than 4 are registered 1 week in advance.

INTRO TO STAMPSCAPES
Beginner/Intermediate Skill Level
This class will begin with brayered backgrounds and QuickScapes cards. Participants will also be introduced to basic masking and scene building, basic tonal applicator use, and blending tip use while working on coated cardstock. Each student must bring a tonal applicator stamp, 3 stylus handles with 6 new blending tips, detail scissors, a 6" soft rubber brayer, acrylic blocks (including long and large) and tape runner. Class typically runs 3.5 hours, with 6 cards being made. Class will be cancelled if fewer than 6 are registered 1 week in advance.

BASIC MEGA CLASS
8 Hour Intermediate/Advanced Skill Level Class
We have people travel long distances, many times from out of state, to attend this comprehensive class. When needed, we will assist with overnight lodging. In this class you will create brayered backgrounds. You will learn tips to repair images, use the tonal applicator, framing, blending tips, detailing your cards, masking and scene building. You will be working on coated cardstock. Participants must bring a tonal applicator stamp, 3 or more colorbox stylus handles with 6 or more unused white oval blending tips, detail scissors, assorted clear acrylic blocks including one long (2.5"x8") and one large (4"x6"), 6" soft rubber brayer, Art Institute dries clear adhesive and detail tip, and tape runner. Several cards will be made using a wide range of techniques. This class is for experienced stampers only, although you need not have any scene building or color blending experience. If you need to purchase a supply pack, we will give you a discount. You will make 12 to 14 cards in 8 hours. Lunch, bottled water and a sweet tray is included.

ADVANCED MEGA CLASS
8 Hour Advanced Skill Level Class
This class is for those who are proficient at masking, building scenes, using the tonal applicator and blending tips. We prefer that you first take the Basic Mega Class. In this class you will learn to make blended backgrounds, foggy / misty scenes, and you will make larger, more complex scenes. You will need the following supplies: tonal applicator stamp, 5 stylus handles with 10 blending tips, and at least one must be brand new), detail scissors, assorted clear acrylic blocks including one long (8") and one large (4"x6"), white Jet pen, and tape runner. Lunch, bottled water and a sweet tray is included.
